His current book, A Puppy’s Tale, beautifully illustrated by Emma Hartsock, is a work of love following the first few weeks in the life of Jasper, from his lion-hunting heritage to his new home in Austin… and the unfortunate business of his tail. It’s a short children’s bedtime story that was years in the making.

Andy began his writing career when he talked himself into the position of Sports Editor at the Austin Chronicle, a loose title he would hold for 10 years. This opportunity spawned his multiple award winning weekly column, The Coach’s Corner, a unique look at the world of sports blended within a personal narrative of Austin in the 90’s. He was voted the Best Sportswriter of the Year three times and was runner up twice

His first book, “It’s Not Fun, Life Below the Radar of the PGA Tour.” vividly portrays the often heartbreaking landscape of professional golfers playing for that once in a lifetime opportunity to, maybe, play in one event on the Big Tour. It’s a hidden world filled with many All-American college golfers who will never see their dreams fulfilled…and a few that do.  Andy is also co-founder of Thundercloud Subs.
